The Story Behind ESL for Workforce Enterprise
ESL for Workforce Enterprise was born from a simple but powerful observation: multilingual adult learners were succeeding in workforce training programs — mastering technical skills, earning certifications, and demonstrating real competence — yet still struggling to advance because of language barriers that traditional ESL programs weren't designed to address.
We set out to change that. By contextualizing English language instruction to specific trades and professions, we created a curriculum that meets learners where they are — in the language of their chosen career. Every lesson, every activity, every assessment is grounded in the real-world communication demands of the workplace.
Today, ESL for Workforce Enterprise is transforming how workforce programs support multilingual learners — from Job Corps centers and adult education programs to community colleges, employers, and training providers across the United States.
